Who we are
ClearCal is a personalised nutrition coaching service operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@clearcal.co.uk.
What data we collect
When you use ClearCal we collect:
- Account information — your name and email address when you create an account
- Health and lifestyle data — information you provide in the quiz including age, height, weight, goal, activity level, health conditions, and dietary habits
- Progress data — weight logs, calorie logs, and weekly check-in data you enter in the dashboard
- Usage data — how you interact with the service, for the purpose of improving it
- Payment data — payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We store your Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription.
Why we collect it
We process your data to:
- Provide you with personalised calorie and macro targets
- Run the TrueTDEE™ adaptive calculation system
- Manage your account and subscription
- Send you transactional emails (account activation, password reset)
Our lawful basis for processing is contract — we need your data to provide the service you've signed up for. For health data (weight, conditions) our lawful basis is explicit consent given when you complete the quiz.
Who we share it with
Your data is processed by the following third-party services:
- Anthropic — your quiz answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your personalised results breakdown. No data is retained by Anthropic for training purposes under our agreement.
- Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
- MongoDB Atlas — database hosting. Your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas servers.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Upstash — rate limiting. No personal data is stored, only anonymised request counts.
We do not sell your data to any third party.
How long we keep it
- Free quiz results are deleted automatically after 30 days
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active
- If you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing
- Data portability

Cookies
ClearCal uses essential session cookies only, required for authentication. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
